Week 5: Mouraria, Parque das Nações, Porto & museums

Four new guides this week, closing out the neighbourhood queue and opening two new page types: an excursion guide and a museums roundup.

What's new

• Mouraria — fado's other historic home and Lisbon's most multicultural central neighbourhood, with a food scene shaped by decades of immigration.
• Parque das Nações — the modern, flat, Expo '98 riverside district, and an honest look at who it actually suits versus the historic centre.
• Lisbon to Porto — new page type: an excursion guide, distinct from our day trips, since Porto genuinely isn't a comfortable single-day trip the way Sintra or Cascais are.
• Lisbon's best museums — new. The Gulbenkian, MAAT, the Tile Museum and the Fado Museum, none of which had a dedicated page until now.

Why we picked these next

Mouraria and Parque das Nações were the last two neighbourhoods on our original list from launch — Places is now a genuinely comprehensive department rather than a partial one. Porto and museums both came from the same gap: real search volume that didn't fit neatly into our existing "day trips" or neighbourhood formats, which is why they became their own new sections rather than being squeezed into existing ones.

What's coming next

With neighbourhoods largely complete, the next few updates shift toward depth: family travel content, and food deep-dives (Time Out Market, vegetarian/vegan options, specific dish guides) now that the wider site gives them enough to link out to. See the FAQ for how we prioritise.
